HQHA of Georgia Scholarships

GOAL:
To provide opportunities for deserving students who wish to further their education in a school or institution of their choice.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must be members of HQHA for the last three consecutive full years not including year of initial application. Applicant must be at least a senior in high school before applying and be under the age of 23. Age is determined by January 1 or year scholarship is available. Applicant must be pursuing an education beyond high school level. Current transcripts are required with application and a personal interview will be conducted.

PROCEDURE:
Student will complete scholarship application provided by the committee along with their most recent transcript that shows their grade point average.

A total of four current recommendations from varied sources are required. These recommendations include principal, guidance counselor, HQHA member, 4-H advisor, extension agent, college professor or any other person who has worked directly with the applicant. The four recommendations must be sent in with the application.

Candidates will be contacted and interviews will be scheduled and conducted.

Applications must be received by HQHA no later than April 1 of each year.

Amounts of scholarships awarded will be determined by the HQHA Board of Directors.

RENEWALS:
Current HQHA scholarship recipients must submit their most recent transcript reflecting a grade point average of 2.5 or better by April 1st to be eligible for renewal. Renewal applicants following this guideline could be granted a renewal each year up to a maximum of three years, provided a current HQHA membership is maintained.
